Kat Von D Lock It Tatoo Foundation: Review & Demo

Kat Von D Lock It Tatoo Foundation
So while I made my mind that this time I am definitely getting a high end foundation just too see if there is out thing out there that REALLY holds on to my grease-ball face a.k.a oily-skin; I found this, fairly new foundation by Kat Von D (a tatoo artist) being highly rated on Sephora. I saw a few videos on youtube and there were only raves and raves about it.
I thought I'll just straight give it a go and see what's the big deal is all about.

I am pretty yellow-toned (i hate the ashy factor some foundations give you) and the shades were very well described online and not many swatches were out there as it was a fairly new foundation. I decided on shade # 54 which is pretty yellow based as described on the site.

After I received it, I couldnt get over the packaging!
Its edgy, yet classic..I feel its SOO MEE!!!
The container was half see through and the rest had black-art done over..
Woooop, its gorgeous!

The box had similar art effects done to it as well.
The foundation comes with an actual pump- I hate it when you pay high prices wih certain foundations which dont even have a pump-this one does, yay!!
The pump also came with a plastic stopper -which le me lost :(

Anyhow...One of the best things about the pump is that you CAN control how much you can pump out.
If you only want half pump, you can actually pump half way through to get the product out.isnt that cool? For me that feature comes really handy.

The claims:
-Full coverage

-24 hours
-Transfer resistant
-Matte Finish
-Fragrance Free
-Oil-free
-For all skin types

This is how my shade Medium # 54 looks against my hand.
Please bare in mind that my hand is a bit darker than my face and I promise, This shade is JUST PERFECT match for my skin tone.
I never got myself matched properly at MAC but I believe I am NC 35-40; for reference.

I have been loving this foundation from its first usage onwards... It has actually turned into my HOLY GRAIL Foundation.
It helps me create the PERFECT canvas for my makeup.

This is the pic when I first put it on. I was AMAZED with its flawlesss-airbrushed finish.
It blends like a dream. Doesnt look caky, yet covers up everything and is sooo light on the skin though the actual foundation is very thick and pigmented.
It never broke me out & the best feature is it never oxidizes on me where most of the foundations did.
One pump does my whole face and neck.

P.S: I apply it with my Sigma F84: Angled Kabuki

Here are a few pics of my full makeup on. I think it makes me look flawless hiding all my imperfections.

My Verdict:
-Full coverage: YES, its bang on full coverage but doesnt feel heavy on the skin
-24 hours: I didnt test it for 24hours but I keeps on as much as I'd want to keep it
-Transfer resistant: I do not agree to this completely, as I have seen it transfer a little bit on my phone one day.
-Matte Finish: YES, completely!!
-Fragrance Free: Agreed
-Oil-free: Yes :)
-For all skin types: I'd say not really for dry skin people as in the winter I have seen it cling on to my dry skin parts a bit. So I'd say not really great fr dry skin people.

All in all, like I mentioned this is my holy grail foundation. I only put on foundation on special occassions and having thsi is an utter bliss. This is all I need. If I want a sheer application I use teh beauty blender to sheer it out.

Its priced $34 for 1 oz product

My rating: 9.5/10
Would I repurchase: HELL YEAH! It'll be very tough to replace this foundation.

Let me know how you people thought of this. If you have use it or not.

Much love,
Usha
